Government of Ireland- International Education Scholarships 2020 (Fully Funded)

The Higher Education Authority (HEA) is pleased to issue the 2020 Call under the International Education Scholarship Program of the Government of Ireland. Under the initiative, 60 scholarships will be awarded for one-year studies at the bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral levels to successful candidates who have an offer of a place in an eligible Irish higher education institution.

The internationalization of Irish higher education is a key element in delivering a quality teaching, learning and research experience for students and staff and to build an international commitment to the sector. The scheme of the Government of Ireland – International Education Grant (GOI-IES) was established under the provisions of the Government’s International Education Strategy, 2010–2015 and expanded under the successor strategy “Educated in Ireland, connected globally (2016- 2020). Attention is also drawn to the Global Ireland strategy of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade: Compliance in the Asia-Pacific region by 2025.

The objective of the GOI-IES 2020 scheme is to reflect Ireland’s commitment to the target partner countries. The plan works in the higher education sector and is funded in partnership between the Government and higher education institutions (HEIs). The scholarships will be rated as prestigious awards that reflect the central messages about Ireland as a center of international education. It is expected that for each scholarship winner, Ireland will be sensitized among many more potential students.
